What is the difference between an EPUNTO Interim CAIO and an AI consultant?
The consultant assesses the situation, analyses it and delivers a strategic roadmap. Our Interim CAIO implements that plan. They take executive responsibility for the roll-out of AI, establish governance, pilot use cases, manage the budget and are responsible for linking the technology to the company’s P&L and EBITDA.

What specific experience do your interim CAIOs have?
Our interim managers are not just technical specialists; they are executives. What if the Interim CAIO is the ideal person to lead the department on a permanent basis?
The assignment is, by its very nature, temporary (e.g. 12–18 months to draw up the roadmap and launch the first pilot projects). However, if, during the assignment, both parties (the client and the professional) agree to a transition to a permanent role leading the department, we facilitate the process with complete transparency.
How do you ensure that CAIO is aligned with the Board’s objectives and not just with ‘technology projects’?
The Interim CAIO reports directly to the Management Committee or the Board. Its remit is defined from the outset in terms of business KPIs (e.g. % operational efficiency, new revenue generated, cost optimisation), not IT metrics. Its accountability is 100% executive and aligned with the company’s strategy.
