Operational excellence to maximise your industrial margin.
In the industrial sector, profit margins aren’t decided in Excel – they’re earned on the shop floor. Whether you’re an industrial entrepreneur grappling with volatile costs and supplies, or a private equity fund seeking to improve a portfolio company’s EBITDA ahead of a sale, inefficiency is your greatest enemy.
Having great technology or a good product is not enough if your operations are not scalable and profitable.
EPUNTO Interim Management injects executive leadership into your factory or industrial group. We assign Plant Managers, COOs or Supply Chain Directors who get straight down to business from day one. They don’t come to carry out theoretical assessments; they come to instil a culture of continuous improvement, optimise your industrial footprint and ensure that every euro invested in production generates a return on investment.
Process Optimisation and EBITDA Improvement
For owners and investors, the priority is clear: to do more with less. Our Interim Managers are experts in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and Six Sigma methodologies.
Production Efficiency (OEE): We analyse and resolve bottlenecks to increase the availability and performance of your production lines without the need for major immediate CAPEX.
Direct Cost Reduction: We tackle waste (scrap), optimise energy consumption and renegotiate key contracts to improve the gross margin.
Change Management on the Shop Floor: We lead ‘blue-collar’ teams, aligning production incentives with the company’s financial objectives.
Resilient Supply Chain and Logistics
The supply chain is no longer a cost centre; it is either a competitive advantage or a fatal risk. We manage your supply chain from end to end.
Working Capital Optimisation (NFO): We reduce levels of obsolete stock and improve stock turnover to free up operating cash flow.
Procurement and Supplier Management: We professionalise your procurement department, diversifying suppliers to reduce risks and ensure supply in volatile environments.
Logistics and Distribution: We redesign your routes and warehouses to improve customer service levels whilst reducing total logistics costs.
Reindustrialisation and Transformation (Industry 4.0)
If your challenge is strategic, we provide the executive vision to transform your industrial model.
Industrial Footprint: We lead complex decisions such as factory relocations, the opening of new plants or the orderly closure of unprofitable facilities.
Industrial Digitalisation: We pilot the introduction of Industry 4.0 technologies (IoT, automation, predictive maintenance) with a pragmatic approach: only if it improves the bottom line.
My industrial subsidiary has good revenue but low profit margins. How can you help?
This is a classic case of ‘inefficient growth’. We appoint a Chief Operating Officer (COO) or Plant Manager focused on cost-to-serve. We review the cost structure, eliminate inefficiencies on the production line and optimise production planning so that the increase in sales actually translates into EBITDA rather than operational chaos.
Do you have experience in my specific sub-sector (automotive, food, chemicals, etc.)?
Yes. In industry, specialisation is crucial. We don’t send a food industry expert to a metalworking plant. Our talent pool includes managers who are familiar with the relevant standards (IFS/BRC for food, IATF for the automotive sector, GMP for pharmaceuticals) and the specific dynamics of your sector.
I need to relocate a factory or open a new plant. Can you take the lead on this?
Absolutely. We provide project management for both greenfield (new plant) and brownfield (refurbishment) projects. Our Interim Manager acts as Industrial Project Director, coordinating engineering, construction, permits and the ramp-up phase until the project reaches full operational capacity, whilst ensuring that deadlines and budgets are met.
How do you manage relations with the trade unions during a restructuring process?
With experience and tact. Our executives have led negotiations on collective agreements, redundancy schemes and workforce flexibility. They act decisively whilst scrupulously respecting the law and the social climate, safeguarding the reputation of both the company and the investment fund during sensitive processes.
What is the difference between your interim manager and an engineering consultancy?
The consultancy firm provides you with a plan or an improvement report. Our Interim Manager implements the improvements. They put on their hard hat and boots, head down to the shop floor, manage the maintenance, production and quality teams, and ensure that the KPIs improve week on week.
