Client and Sector: Our client, a leading company in the industrial sector, was at a critical stage of integration following its full acquisition by a major international group that is a market leader. With over 50 years’ experience and a significant previous investment in automation, the organisation needed to bring its production plant into line with the global standards of its new parent company.

Frequently asked questions

What was the main challenge in this project?

The challenge was to ensure the operational continuity and efficiency of a large-scale industrial plant whilst it was being integrated into an international group. A ‘plug-and-play’ executive was needed, capable of managing a workforce of over 200 employees and high-tech processes without disrupting customer service.

Why was an interim manager chosen rather than a traditional consultancy firm?

Speed and critical specialisation were non-negotiable factors. The client could not afford the time involved in a traditional recruitment process (which typically takes between 6 and 9 months), nor could it bear the risk of a slow learning curve. Choosing EPUNTO enabled the company to bring on board a qualified manager in less than two weeks. This ensured immediate, error-free delivery from day one, mitigating operational risk during the transition and ensuring that the plant met standards in record time.

What was the most significant impact during the first 90 days?

In the first quarter, our Interim Manager succeeded in stabilising production planning and optimising the coordination of internal logistics. This enabled the company to meet the budgetary targets set by the new parent group and to fulfil delivery commitments in 28 countries.

How did EPUNTO ensure the transfer of knowledge at the end of the mission?

In line with our methodology, a structured exit plan was implemented, under which the Interim Manager documented the new processes that had been put in place and mentored the local team, ensuring that the improvement in operational efficiency would be sustainable and aligned with the group’s culture following his departure.

What unique feature did EPUNTO bring to this solution?

A combination of agility and dual supervision. Not only did we provide a COO with proven technical expertise, but the project was also continuously monitored by an EPUNTO Partner. This approach guarantees the quality of the service, enabling us to respond flexibly to any new requirements identified during the project.
